A small little Haul :)

Hey all :)

Missed my little chit chats with all of you :)
I did little shopping few days back, I know I haven't done any blogging in days but that was because I was not fiddling out as in what other things can be done at this space ; a little has been formulated but then still a long way to go :)
So many things are going on in my life at the moment, at times it makes me wonder how I am managing it but then I have realized its all due to surrounding myself with positive and happy thoughts. Also another thing is to tackling one issue at a time and not do so many things at a time ;) as if I am buttercup frm The Power Puff Girls ;)

Some of these things will be reviewed in coming days :) Beauty Blogosphere has helped me so much , I shop wisely now!! ( Also the fact that so many of you write such honest reviews that it has helped me with the little skin issues I was facing).

Maybelline Lip Smooth color and care Lip Balms ~ Dolly Rose and Strawberry ~ Pics and Swatches

No matter how much I love winters, the only irk I have with it is the fact that my skin looses all its moisture and begins to get dry, especially my lips.
My association with lip balms goes back to class 7th when having a clear lipbalm/lip gloss in your school bag meant being "Cool" !! specially the ones which had some flowers/cartoons printed on it and "SuperCool" If it had some fruity fragrance too. I remember crying when my mum refused to buy me one because she felt it was sheer stupidity :p ,, did any one of you used those little green pink blue Japanese Korean lip glosses??

I got the Maybelline Dolly Rose as part of the Violet Bag Haul. I really really liked it and then a few days ago I bought the Strawberry varient of the same lip balm.

Shade :
Shade wise they are 80% similar on my pigmented lips. These lip balms are not meant for healing super dry chapped lips.
Dolly Rose : very faint rosy pink shade , more like a baby pink. On pigmented lips like mine it shows like my own lip shade with a slight tinge of pink. On non-pigmented lips it will look like what it looks on the swatch on my arm.
Strawberry : Strawberry is a tad bit deeper than Dolly Rose in each and every aspect
There is no shimmer in these lip balms,,, Thank You God!!

Texture :
Very buttery, creamy sort of texture which blends super easily, Not hard waxy like lotus ones.

Fragrance :
 Mild fruity fragrance, sweet and yet not overpowering.

Moisturizing effect :
 I would give it 8/10 on the moisturizing effect, its good but its more for the tint...
I would still recommend The Lotus Herbals Cocoa Lip Balm to those who are suffering from super fry chapped lips.

Packaging :
Very cute, nice design and absolutely travel friendly.

Price : 110 INR , decent for the quality they possess.

My preferences keeps on changing when it comes to buying makeup, at times I am all for matte finish and then all of sudden the shimmery dewy phase captures me like anything. This is the reason why my ma never ever buys  any makeup  for me even if I keep on pestering her to do so, moreover when I know she is visiting a nice store. :(

This is also the major reason why I have stopped buying any high end makeup stuff because with time I will abandon them , I know its sheer stupidity but I can't help it.

So, sometime back I had this shimmery/glowy/dewy phase going on and that is the reason behind buying these glosses. The word "Liquid Diamonds" captured my heart and I fell for it :D ye ye ye

My take with these babies :)

Ok, I loved them in my shimmery phase, The color is not very intense, it is quite sheer and not so buildable. Consistency is ok, not super thick nor slippery. color payoff is fine,,average actually. Will not show up on pigemented lips, looks nice when applied over a lipstick. Perfect for college going girlies as it gives the apt amount of shimmer n color that they want and can apply in college easily (subjective to variations :p )

The applicator is fine too.

It moisturises my lips very well, I love using them with a smoked black/purple shimmery eyes.

I did not like the fragrance, its yuk, if you are familiar with Digene or gelucil and hate their fragrance then kindly stay away from these glosses, the smell + taste wont fade away for 15 min easily.

There is no description of its ingredients on the tube. 

Recommendation : please measure the likes and dislikes and then think of giving these a try.

Maybelline color sensational range is the most loved range in Maybelline lipsticks till date. They are awesome, nicely pigmented, stays on for long, sweet smelling and pocket friendly.

This one was my first ever lipstick from the color sensational range. When I saw this shade at the counter I took a matter of 5 seconds to decide on to buy it.

Color shade ~ To define this shade I would say that its a mix of pink and ruby shade,, on pigmented lips it looks like a perfect beautiful ruby shade and I love it.

Moisturization ~ very moisture rich, works well for lips even without any lip balm applied underneath

Fragrance ~ Mild coconut , not very overpowering ,, much like a coconut sweet.

Packaging ~ very sturdy packaging , pink case cause the shade is from the pink family

Maybelline ~ Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner , Colossal Volume Express waterproof mascara ~~ and a gift :)

I have been a loyal fan of Maybelline since long time,, never had thought I would be slightly disappointed by a maybelline product,,,hmmm,,but hey !!! so what one thing didn't work as i expected,,the other worked wonders and the gift is soooo cute :)

Maybelline colossal volume express mascara is a nice mascara,, provides volume to the lashes as it claims,, also its waterproof ,,

My suggestion ~ don't overdo it because it will turn clumpy..trust me,,its a pain to remove it if over done,,
It is not going to give you a false lash effect because it make the lashes join and then clumps it even more,,so you may find gaps in your lashes if you over use it. Use it lightly and it will do its job,,

Also if you insist on doing heavy lashed eye,,then between applying coats do not let the mascara dry on the lashes,,or in simpler words,,,move your hand pretty fast girl,, :)

p.s. do not think its comparable to the high end mascaras,, its just a regular one,, use it sans high expectations and it will be a good thing for you.

The mascara wand is good,,i guess the slight issue is with the formula.

Maybelline Eyestudio lasting drama gel eyeliner is a thick consistency liner,, not so soft and not very hard either,, i like liners that are more soft than this one is ,,but still I consider it a nice one and in future I would like to buy one in brown shade..

I bought the shade 01 Black ~ its black but not that black (remember lavie ad :D LOL) exactly is my opinion with this one,, my eye color is Nut Brown,, so until n unless I use a jet black or a proper brown liner,,I don't feel okay with the result..

So, i would have liked it much more if the shade was pitch or jet black,,

I have issues with the consistency also, with time i have found that it has hardened a bit,,but still not something that should make this a no-no..

Also it does not wear off your eyes,,unless you rub your eyes hard (never do it,,never !!)

~ The pencil brush is fine,,does its job well,,just clean it after every use,,else you may ruin it.
~ Packaging is fantastic,,, I like it ..
