The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Butter ~ Review

 (oohhh !! It rhymed ;) super impressed with my skills hahahahahahhaaaa :p )

The Body Shop ~ Spice Vanilla  Body Butter is the best thing to soften up dry skin. The Body Shop body butters are famous worldwide as we all know pretty well. Spiced Vanilla was launched around Christmas last year and has been a favorite of TBS lovers since then.

If you suffer from dry patches on your body and nothing seems to ward off the dryness then definitely try this product. I have been using this for past two weeks and am pretty amazed with the cream.

I thankfully do not suffer from dry or irritated skin, my skin is pretty normal but still I love experimenting with new creams and lotions every now and then. I read about this spiced vanilla body butter and the word spice & vanilla made me buy it. I love spices and always make sure to use fresh ones in my kitchen so it was a pretty easy decision to be made when choosing among different variants.

Plus I feel so good wearing this, not only it smells good but also makes my skin baby soft.

And I get complimented too ;)

Notes about it in my opinion.

Job :

• Pouring life into dry skin.
• Making skin baby soft and retain its moisture :) .
• Keeps skin soft for good 5-6 hrs.
• Make rough skin patches buttery smooth.

Plus points :

• Super dry skin. If you want to get rid of dry patches without using thick lotions then this is definitely for you.
• Rough patches . Like your knuckles, writs, elbows, knees etc.
• Can be used as a body butter/cream for both summers and winters.
• Suitable for Humid climate as well. 

Minus points :

• Not for super oily skin.
• Tub packaging . Why TBS ? WHY ?

Consistency :

• Buttery smooth texture. One touch and you would fall in love with it.
• Looks thick but isn't in reality.
• Blends effortlessly into your skin
• Just like a skin drink to quench its thirst.
• Doesn't leave any white cast on blending.
• You need extremely little amount while applying. So, even the small size tub would take me months to complete.

Fragrance :

• Spiced Vanilla . It smells of Cinnamon Buns. Anyone would love it.
• Okay for sensitive nose.
• Fragrance lingers for 1 hour.

Usage :

• Use it as you use your normal body cream.
• Focus on areas which are dry and ripped of moisture.
• Start with a little amount and then  take another little scoop for that extra touch of moisture.
• Little goes long way.

Packaging :

• Not impressed with packaging, Tub packaging is unhygienic. There is no inner lid for this product's packaging.
• Tub is sturdy and the lid closes well.
• Travel friendly upto a limit.

Would personally suggest for :

• Those suffering from extremely dry skin.
• Those who keep on washing their hands every now and then because of their field of work.
• Those who have rough patches on few areas on their body.
• Those who want a awesomely good smelling cream.

First and foremost , I am a huge fan of THIS . :)

After months and months of experimenting with useless creams I found this one and I am glad I did.

When I finished two bottles of it, I thought why not give the other variants from this range a try...

I wanted to buy the serum but It was not available at the shop I went to, nor was the emulsion, the only thing there was Yogurt scrub and this Gel cream from this range.

Honestly speaking I was not sure whether I should use it for my face because my skin is slightly sensitive and the word gel cream didn’t sound good to me, but then I thought okay, I never knew the emulsion was going to work either, but It did so why not give it a try,, the shiny mirror like cap was calling my name, I couldn’t refuse. I had a backup plan that if it backfires on my face, I would use it as a body cream.

My experience with it ~

I like it but then I don’t love it. There ..you see I am not loving it, so it has some minor glitches which did not make it comparable with the emulsion 

One thing that I like the most in it is the feeling of a rich moisturizer on your face without you looking like a shining ball or something. It did not cause any break outs on my skin. Another thing that I really liked is that It completely works to soothe out the dry patches on my skin.

It is basically a semi-thick gel cream with beautiful fragrance.  It did not brighten up my skin like the emulsion cream did but then neither did it cause any break out. It is totally apt for those days when I find any dry patch on my skin. Blends out super easily on to my skin.

The things good ~

~ Semi-thick gel based cream that did not break out my oily-combination skin

~ Lovely fragrance

 ~ Apt for soothing dry skin

~ Does not clog my skin pores

~ Moisturizes the skin very well

~ Soothes the skin and makes it super soft <3

The things Bad ~

~ The container ~ A tub ~ heavy too

~ Flakes out when laired,, rub it and see,,(dnt do it just before leaving your house, cos then u will have to apply everything on your face again ;) )

This one was just for trial, I will repurchase it in winters for sure, when my face needs nice amount of moisturization. I will purchase the emulsion again and the serum ,,just for the sake of trying it.

Comparing the emulsion and the gel cream I would say that :

For people with oily/combi skin ~ Go for the Emulsion in summers and emulsion + gel cream in winters

For people with dry skin ~ Go for emulsion + gel cream in summers and Only Gel cream in winters.

For rest ~ Mix and match depending on how your skin is behaving.

Recommendation : Yes please, any which way you will love it. Beware of flakiness though.

I am head over heels on this lil smarty here ;)
I have been using it for the past 1.5 months and am sure I am never going to use something else over this one as a face moisturizer. How to use ?


Use morning and evening all over face and neck after cleansing it thoroughly. For synergic effect, use in conjunction with WHITEGLOW Intensive Skin whitening and Brightening Serum.

What It has done for me ?

I always wanted a light-non greasy moisturizer for my face that can make my face soft throughout the day and m glad I finally found it.
It has definitely even out my skin tone and gives a nice soft dewy glow to my skin.
I use it in the morning after washing my face with my regular Himalya Neem Foaming face wash and after that if required any makeup over it.
Keeps my facial skin hydrated, soft and supple.
Also before going to sleep I use it over my face and neck and say then ,,,, I say hello!! to a soft glowy skin the next morning. :)
It has never broke out my skin or in fact any other bad thing.

One single pump amount is enough for your face at a time, because I use it for my neck too I liberally pump twice and massage the cream into my skin for a good minute.



As far as the packaging goes It looks neat and classy , the pump is very nice and the bottle is made of hard glass.

The fragrance is very mild n flowery. I love it.
The consistency of the cream is just perfect, blends out so easily into my skin.
Non-greasy and doesn't leave any white cast on your face.

This cream has definitely made my skin better and yes I can see the glow on my face and the soft feather like touch too :) :)
The uneven skin is gone and definitely the acne scars and sun spots have lighten allot, so I can easily say that It has lighten my skin on a good note.

It has stood up to all its claims for me. Nothing negative for it from my experience :)

♥ yesss ^^ i have finally found a good, easy on pocket that is doing all good for my skin. 
♥ I have slightly sensitive skin with little redness at times,,,but this moisturiser has not let me down.
♥ Its easily absorbs onto my skin, is completely shine free and leaves my skin soft n supple for atleast 4-5 hours.
♥ As far as SPF is concerned,,i cant say much cos i seldomly step out in the day,,m all for evenings ^^ ..
♥ Its non greasy, have been using beneath the foundation without any issue, 
♥ Affordable to the T. 
♥ packaging is sturdy plastic bottle, with a round open cap,,
♥ In the beginning its easy to pour the cream out, but as you use it day by day, it becomes a hassle  to take cream out.
